ok so after the recent escapes tonight is the first time he’s refused food. And he never refuses food. Stuck his head out looked at me and left been hand feeding forever now. But seen a mark on the side of his face I’m going to assume it’s from the tube ride but he’s not been hiding at all since I got him back in the tank tonight. Very active still but acting odd. It’s been maybe 2 hours but just want to get an opinion I’m sure he’s stressed right now but literally comes running for food and just runs away anytime I offer him something. Here’s a pic of his face. That look like just damage from tuning through the tube or maybe something else I should be concerned with?

Leave it a couple of days and then feed some live worms from a bait shop (not somewhere fertiliser or pesticides have been used, ever)

Keep up the water testing and water changes and I think it will bounce back

oops forgot to hit reply earlier

eels will sometimes go through periods of refusing food that can last a couple weeks my fire eel nero did this once because I rearranged the tank. As far as the wound keep water clean and it should heal my black spot eel aka carpetsurfer had one from his experience and it's healing

Ok that’s a little comforting. Thanks for the reply’s. He’s been very active and swimming around a lot and he usually just hides until dinner time lol.

Thankfully he seems almost back to normal started eating again today and his skin in clearing up.
