I came home at lunch today to find that my 7" female dovii housed alone in a 55 had laid eggs on the back wall. I moved her to that tank about a month ago, after keeping her with some targets and dithers in a 120 for some time. I moved her to the 55 so that I could grow out four male dovii in the 120. Anyways, she did this in the 120 once before as well after rearranging the tanks and moving some tankmates. I'm not too concerned about it, but she hasn't been eating alot since being moved and looks really drawn out after laying the eggs. Has anyone else experienced this behaviour with their cichlids? I didn't find anything in a search. Thanks.

other cichlids have been known to lay before with out a male. my male jag stops eatin after he breeds with the female, perhaps you should move her back into the 120 for time being..?
