Just moved my bass to a different tank water parameters were fine... Ph 7.4, nitrates 20 ppm and nitrite and ammonia are zero. The tank has had guppies and a turtle in it for a few months so we took the turtle out and left the guppies in but the bass are very unhappy. They look really stressed out and are hiding under a piece of wood... The bottom of the tank is completely bare and mirrored, is this what is stressing them out? Are the guppies in the tank freaking them out? They have definitely eaten some of the guppies so I assume its good that they're eating. Any help would be appreciated thank you! Also has anybody kept a sunfish with their ass before?? My bf and I were at petsmart one day and saw a sunfish in a tank that accidentally came in with one of their routine goldfish shipments and they can't legally sell them since they're native so they said we could take it for free... Let me tell you he was a total jerk!!! He's by himself in a different tank now since he can't seem to play nice with anyone. Curious if anybody else has tried this combo...

The bass is most likely stressed from the whole move. I highly doubt that the guppies are stressing your bass. As for the bare bottom tank, you're fine. If that was the cause of your bass being stress, that bass will lay side wides on the bottom of your tank.

Thanks for the reply! They are slowly coming out more but now they're scared of me... Any time I go by they immediately go hide under the driftwood in the tank.. Weird.

Let them settle down in there. The juvenile mono also do this hide and seek with me for the last 2 days. And today, they seen to feel more comfortable swimming to the front to accept pellets.:)

No because sunfish and cichla have different needs as far as water temps.......sun fish need cold water and cichla need warm water.....I tried putting a sunfish in warmer water and it seemed like he got fin rot instantly
