hey guys i got a new tiger oscar yesterday and he is really stressed he has come out a few times and checked out the tank but most of the time he is hiding inside of a plant that is in the corner he is laying sideways on the leaves of the plant sometimes and im worried about him oscars ive had in the past never did this and neither did my friends oscars his were eating and acting normal the first day. my oscar has eaten but only once and im just worried about him why is he so stressed the water is ammonia 0 nitrites 0 and nitrates 15 ph is 7.4 temp is at 82 and non of the other tank mates are messing with him at all any ideas guy? or how long this is going to last thanks guys

Did you take much time acclimating him to your water? 82 degrees is a little higher than a lot of people keep their tanks, especially stores. Maybe he is a little water shocked. Oscars are pretty resilient when they are grown a little and water shock shouldn't kill him as long as everything else is balanced (which it looks like it is okay). If he is real small, he may be more fragile. Try turning the light off for a day or two and see if he perks up at all.

Leave the light off if he is super small make sure it has a place to hide. I keep my water temp at 80 for my Oscar no problems.
