i have recently moved my arowana to a 75 gal from a 55. he used to eat out of my hand in the 55 but no longer will in the 75, its been about 2 weeks. he still eats but he now grabs the silver sides off the bottom. i have not added any freshwater salt or anything like that. any suggestions?

i have a stressed pearsei cichlid because my Asian upside down catfish well now i now they are aggressive my auc chased the poo out of my pearsei cichlid i think he is getting used to a new environment maybe adding freshwater aquarium salt would help at lest he eats it took my 14 inch Oscar 3 weeks to start eating my pearsei cichlid has a dark face and is hiding in his hiding spot half the time does your arawana present simaler behavyour happy to help oh you should add aqarium tap water conditioner

if i were you i would do a water change and put some freshwater aquarium salt in the tank then turn off the fish tank lights you will need at least 180 gallons for him later on

As long as water parameters are good there is no reason to do some random water change. The fact that it is eating leaves little reason for concern. No salt needed just time to adjust to it's new home.

It's going to need more then "at least 180 gallons" so why even suggest it, giving bad advise is worse then giving any at all.

He'll be fine as long as he eating regularly. Do your normal water changes. It may take a while for the hand feeding to resume. Remember it is not uncommon for aros to fast for long periods of time. good luck

i really appreciate all of the replies and since this post he is doing much better. im aware of the adult size of the aro and have already made preparations for this. thank you all again
