I got 1 pictus catfish a while back then turned around and bought another because the first was stressed out. They were fine at first but now they are fighting when they get near each other and they each sit on different sides of the tanks digging holes in the sand from pacing. I see them breathing fast sometimes and I was wondering if they are stressed out or just need to get away from each other (or territories). They are in a 75 gallon with a few tiger barbs, 2 Bolivian Rams, and 2 Corydoras (which they seem to hate and chase away) They seem to be different sexes but not too sure. Ones a bit smaller and slimmer then the other bigger one.

Thanks

Just territorial seems to be. Get a few more and it'll mellow out.

Sounds good. Im probably gonna special order some gobies tomorrow or some more bottoms feeders. Would the smaller bottom feeders be in danger if I put them in with the 2 pictus?

If they are bumble gobies then yes. Just make sure whatever is in the bottom that it can't fit in their mouth.

They need a hole. I never see mine it hides so much.

Plenty of hiding spaces for them. Ones set up his own territory on the side of thank behind a big plant. I dont know. I may give them to a friend that keeps pictus because I have a few other small bottom feeders coming in and I dont want them to get injured

What you describe sounds about the norm for pictus. Mine do the same thing often too - a split second dance / fight / body slam and then they separate lightning fast.
