My red devil is about 2 in. When I bought him he was pale orange, now he's getting black marks on his fins and face, I read on here where someone said there rd was doing the same thing, he referd to it as peeling, can some one explain this to me. Is this a disease? My other rd is 4 in never did this. Thanks.

It's a natural genetic color morphing process some species of fish go through, common with some Amphilophus spp. Nothing to worry about, just sit back and enjoy whatever color he ends up turning.

Relax. It's fine. Many red devils do that as they grow. It's not a disease at all. Mine actually is 4 1/2" and just went through a "peeling" phase. Its nothing to be worried about.
