My lesser siren has never swum around with poop coming out of him before just the other day when I noticed a little, but today I noticed a good near-inch of it hanging out and it's translucent light brown and stringly like frayed straw. Any ideas? Could a sudden increase of worms in his diet do this?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Do you have plants in the tank? It could be that he ingested some plant matter and is taking a while passing it. I wouldn't worry about it unless it persists for a long time.

Lots of plant matter! I'll be keeping watch, it seems to be gone now but I'll be on the look out for more. Thanks for the tip!
