Sorry I cant post pics, camera just doesnt have the quality for this one.
I first saw this stuff about a month ago and thought it was a root system growing out of the gravel. I went on vacation and when I came back, it exploded in growth! It is now clearly not a root system. And it has begun attaching itself and growing off of my other plants! any species, it doesnt matter what. It is a stringly, off-white "fungi" Its rather tough stuff, I tried pulling it off of one of my java ferns and had to cut it off, definitely not fragile. It appears much like terrestrial fungi that I have seen many times. When it grows thick, it has the appearance of a tangled ball of fishing line.
I have never seen something quite like it in aquatics before. Anyone ever encounter something similar?
Im assuming its sucking nutrients from my plants, it started growing on a dead runner one of my grasses put out. The plants dont seem to be suffering and look healthy, but I still think I should be concerned about it. I really dont want it taking over my lace plants.
