My sailfin pleco has poop that will be twice his body length and linger for days trailing behind him as he swims. Is this systematic of a parasite or his diet? I've tried changing it but really I'm feeding the rest of the fish in the tank not him he just gets a hold of whatever I feed everyone else. They are on a mix of cichlid attack and a kensfish branded floating pellets for cichlids.

It really should get algae wafers from time to time. They are omnivores in my opinion, but their base diet is vegetarian in nature. Cichlid pellets are more biased towards carnivorous diets from what I read on the labels.

Stringy poo and plecos go hand in hand, it's when they don't poo you need to worry!
