Strip light green hue?

I just bought a Perfecto 48" striplight. I plug it in and turn it on and the tank has a greenish tint now. The striplight I had on it, (also a perfecto 48" but didn't match the black tank, it was brown. I put it on a brown tank and bought a new black one anyway....) The one I took off seemed more natural looking. Also I tried a couple new bulbs on two 24" hoods they were coralife spectramax 20w and they also looked greenish. Has anyone noticed this before? If so what is up with that?? I don't think I care much for the greenish tint.

I'll grab some batteries and tomorrow and get a couple pics. The light just doesn't look natural. Maybe it's an old bulb. Can bulbs get old if unused?

still no pics but I swapped bulbs with another 48" strip and it looked right. I change them back and it's got a green hue to it. Any ideas I'd like to hear them I hate to buy a new bulb for a new strip light and I don't want to drive back to the place I bought it as I was on my way home from a trip and I'd probably spend that much in gas.

I got a new bulb (all glass) that looks better but I am still curious about the green tint to the light. No one else has ever run into this?
