The bass are finally no the move and making there last push of the year. I got out a few time's this week on a local charter boat to try to dip into the action. Went out 3 time's in the last week and every time came home with at least one fish. Here on the island they have to be 28" to keep and you can only keep one unless your on a party boat then you can keep two (one 28"or bigger and one 42" or bigger) Here are some pic's from the trips.

nice. whenever i go out for stripers here in li, i come back with nothing. im not a fan...they arent a good fighter compared to bluefish either. just wish they were easier to catch. is there any secret technique or baits?

42 or bigger? They raised the limit again? Was only 40" last year. Jaysen, not too tough if you go out on party boat when they're migrating. A little tougher from shore, try menhaden head lip-hooked.

Try drift fishing with live threadfin shad. I dont mean shad minnows either. I'm talking 6-8" shad hook them through the mouth (their mouth is really hard and the rest of their body is easy to tear through) then just let them swim and keep your bail open. When you get a hit you will know it. I caught a 52lb on a 11" shad

nice catches what type of bait you use?

We use eels, bunker, umbrella rigs and diamond jigs for alot of bass here on the Island.

When you catch one over 25lbs get ready for one of the greatest fights your going to have. What i tell everyone who ask me what is my technique i always a waiting game. I got out on 5 hour trip's at night in 35F weather and some night's lucky to even have just one bite if that.
