Okay so i read the thing about Ich and this isn't a tiny white spot its a big one and I'm wondering what it is (sorry for posting in both this section and the catfish one i couldnt figure out how to move my threat but someone can delete the other one if need be)
so while doing a water change we found this white spot on our SRC and don't know what it is, it doesnt appear to be bothering him or anything just wondering what it is and how to treat it

here are pictures:

we are thinking it could be a scrape or something because he's often hiding in driftwood and races to it when we turn the lights on but aren't sure, help would be very much appreciated! thanks!

okay so basically after i posted this we were looking at all the fish in our tank all turned out to look fine cept the oscar has like four tiny white dots on either pectoral fin so we basically assumed this is the pod of ich on the raphael and that the oscar is infected and have done the treatment suggested by bumping our temp up to 83 (right now) and treating with salt (the amount it says in the sticky), so i guess my concern is that if it isn't ich will this do any damage? i'm guessing not but im just making sure, thanks!

its just a rubbing sore as the jam themselves into tight spaces and the answer is no... salt and temp increase wont do any damage but the temp has to be 86 degrees to affect ich
