Striped South American Gar?

i saw this @ http://tropical-imports.co.uk/preorder list.htm and was wondering what species it is as its not on primitive-fishes and i am looking into getting a gar but from what i can see gars have different needs so i want one thats right for me.

any info much appreciated!

They aren't gar like most thing of gar. They are also known as 'false gar' or 'green gar'. They turn out looking alot like the marine 'needlefish'. Look up info related to pike/characins and you'll find out more.
