Stripers in NY area

Hi I'm sort of new to this forum and the NY area. I grew up on the coast of Massachusetts and during the summer nights my friends and I would get some beer, wait til it got good and dark, and go fishing off the beach for stripers. Now I live in NY, and fishing season is just around the corner and I realized I don't know of any good places around here to catch some striped bass. Anyone have any good spots they could recommend for a new New Yorker?

sandy hook is can be a good place to get the bass off the beach. If you want to fish there overnight you need a permit though.

Where in NY.Upstate they run in the hudson last week in april till the 3 week in may.Nice size 25lbs plus.

dont you mean strippers?...hmmm...i dont think you'll find stripers at a nude club....trust me, that fishy smell...aint fish.

Hey. If you really want some help on some spots just gimme a PM. I own a Bait and Tackle shop here in Northport and I can definitely give you some good spots in your area and some even better ones on the north/south shore! You may have to drive a little but good fishing is worth a little drive!
