Stripped Raphael catfish growth rate

I bought 2 small stripped Raphael catfish to put in my 75 gallon african tank, i currently have them in a 14 hex till they are big enough to put with my africans but they are growing so slow, is this normal? And what is a safe size to put them in with my africans?...thanks rob

These cats are ultra slow growers. I bought mine at 2" and he is currently 4" after about six months. I know they come out at night and always feed heavily but they are just slow cats.

I owned a pair of them for about 8 weeks. When I noticed that my pleco's were cleaning the algae off of the cats because they just don't flipping move I decided to get rid of them.

But yes, as stated above they are slow growing. Google is awesome yo~
