thanks for the help

Wait 3-4 weeks.

I notice my cichlids holding, then wait about 18 days and strip the fry instead of the eggs. Easier to raise that way :)

I just got a batch of about 28 from one of my females. She spit about 15 of them out as soon as I netted her. She knows the deal now after me stripping her 3 times already.

Wait until they are 'rigglers' (free swimming) then catch her, open her mouth and tip them out.
you can usually tell when they are ready because you will see her holding sack moving like a sack full of kittens

I would also agree with what has been said. Its really hard to sucessfull raise them from egg form b/c you have to make sure you dont have to strong a current but enough of one to keep the eggs moving so that fungus/bacteria w/e doesnt grow onto and destroy the eggs. I did do it once but I bought a special egg holding really small triangle thing with a tiny bubbler that goes under another piece that you put the eggs on. Only one made it. Anyways I would wait untill they are free swimming and either move them into their own tank or take out all the fish that will eat them and move those fish somewhere else.

Those breeder nets come in real handy for this.Strip the fry right into the net and its easier to make sure theyre safe and fed in there till they get a little bigger

I strip mine into a large bowl of tank water :)

Then I'll deposit my mommy into a holding tank for a few days or back into the main tank. There isn't very much aggression in my main tank due to it's size and overstockness so she isn't pestered when she is put back in the tank. Plus, since I don't remove her from the larger tank until it's time it is like she never left.
