hi..
can anyone give me some tips to get a stronger concrete?
it is for the DIY tank background..

i have tried some sample with 4-5 coats of cement and it tends to crack when i press hardly on it.. is it normal??
basically, i just mixed the cement and water, thats all..
should i add anything else? like sand?

yes for sand or buy premix mortar at home depot etc....

Try grout. This was the remedy I found for the same problem I had when building speaker boxxes.... If poured too thin it would crack.... Grout is amazing... Cures like 7 times stronger too.

Tap water that is high in phosphates makes a slower curing cement. Some tap water can also interfer with the chemical reactions of cement mixes. For these reasons I use r/o water to make cement.

If you use concrete like Quickwall, it will crack less because of the fibreglass strands in it.
