My magnet glass cleaner keeps getting knocked off by the ungrateful delinquents in my tank. The current one is "magfloat" brand. The tank is 90g, if that matters.

Any suggestions for a stronger one?

What size tank is it rated for? I find getting one for a larger tank works better.
My aqueon scraper on my 55 is rated for a 125…it’s not going anywhere.

tank volume does not matter… it goes by glass thickness… being “over rated” is advisable to an extent… too much “juice” and it gets dangerous with these types of magnets lol… you cant pull them back apart, spacers are needed when not in use. I have one rated to 1” thickness. I put a folded towel in between it and its still hard to use. I use it on 1/2”-3/4” acrylic. Id go with one rated 1/2”-3/4” at the most for ur 90gal. 3/4” might be too much.

The tunze maagnet comes in a variety of strengths, I've got the medium, I think which holds pretty well on 10mm glass. I think there's a strong and a strong+ above that.
But...the cheapest option would be just pull the magnet out when you're done.

$124 for a 3.5" x 4.5" magnet doesn't fit my budget. Also, at that price, I'd bet they are neodymium. Be careful the coating/casing remains intact. Neodymium + water = rapid oxidation.

The algea free brand are a bit cheaper… what i have. They are still pricey but they work much better than mag brand floats.

I have used a number of brands over the years, and if the magnet is strong enough, they all work pretty well on getting off "superficial" algae, if used everyday or couple days.
But if they are not used daily, and algae is allowed to get a foot hold in the microscopic fissures in the glass, they are almost useless.
The old tried and true razor blade is the only effective, and least costly tool .
