Neeed advise with my NGT, he's quite stubborn, he accepts mp and beefheart.
but doesn't want to take frozen fish. My other fish are mainly fed with frozen fish, its been a month already since he ate. I've been feeding my other fishes with frozen fish, but he just refuses to eat , he's about 5 inches, stomach has sunken a little. he has not eaten for about a month. Should i feed him a piece of mp? or just continue to try to get him to take the fish. He's in the tank with an arowana, IT , tinfoils and bichirs which all take fish, I do notice he would rush close to the fish falling and smell it, then just ignore it.

should i feed him a piece of mp?

I have an IT been working on for many months. I starve him for a few weeks and he will eventually eat ONE pellet. That is all. I wait maybe two more weeks, cave and feed him lots for a few days and start over. It takes less time then it used to for him to eat the ONE pellet, but I am not giving up. For me 5 weeks is the max. Go ahead and let him eat one day, and start over. Try soaking the fish in shrimp juice overnight. Maybe that will do the trick. Good luck.

what kind of frozen fish do you feed though? is it the china white small fishes?

Yes, i would give in and give him some mp if this is what he demands right now. If his belly is starting to cave in, it might be a gd time to give him what he wants. The only other way i would wait a little more time is if he is moving toward the frozen fish and staring at it like he might take it soon. If he's completely ignoring it, i would just feed him. This might be a gd time to introduce him to pellets by stuffing a couple in the piece of mp you offer him now. Mp by itself just won't cut it for long term health and beefheart in large quantities is just too toxic for the water to me
The fact of the matter is not all dats will crave whole frozen fish. To me, it's the healthiest thing you can give them, but a whole protien stuffed with a quality pellet is right up there for nutrition and growth. It's a pain to specialize different foods for different dats, but it can be neccessary due to what the individual fish might demand. gd luck
