ok, so i will be returning to the states in September and plan on bringing back some stuff from China...no electric gear - just MECH AND BIO MEDIA

in particular:

- various types of filter floss
- generic ceramic ring media
- jap mat / various misc. mech media

this stuff is dirt cheap here.....

i live in SoCal once i get back - and wouldn't mind brining some home for fellow mfker's in the area - ill sell it to you at cost (what i pay here) or trade for some used stuff if you want....

gauging interest right now.....so let me know via this thread please

as for quality: mech media is fine, ceramic ring type media is generic (we ain't talking eheim here) - but WORKS....and is used by all the asian aro keepers here who know what they are doing.....

btw: if this is illegal or something, please tell me know.....nothing comes in new packaging or anything....

on another note: if interest is too high, i won't be able to do this either...i plan on devoting 1 70lb bag to this media - on the flip side, if interest is VERY high.....i may do a crate shipment via ship freight....
 
Would be interested in the ceramic rings and fine/medium mat...... do you have an approx. price for each?
 
update on prices:

15kg of ceramic media i can get for $25 US dollars - that is 33lbs

1 pack of filter floss is only 1 rmb ($1 US = $7.5 rmb) - it would take approx. 4-8 packs to fill up 1 chamber of a larger sized cannister imo

* filter floss has 2-3 varieties with slightly different "feels" to them
* also, there is a filter pad type sheet, layer of floss stuck to a layer of black sponge (might be carbon, probably not) -- goes for 4-5 rmb per pack

again, depending on interest, we'll see how this goes......if there are many who want, i may limit how much you can get....ideally i only want to bring 2 full bags of this assorted stuff back - that is about 140lbs or so.....50-60 of which i need

AGAIN, IF THIS IS ILLEGAL IN ANY WAY, I WILL NOT DO IT, SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME, ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK IT IS, CUZ NONE OF IT IS "NEW" AND WILL BE SOLD AS MY "USED" GOODS
 
if you are curious to why i would be doing this, here is the reason:

- i have gotten into this hobby cuz of this website
- knowing people locally in the hobby is important
- none of my current socal friends are into fish, or know jack about it, so i need some people who can help along the way

so for the potential doubters - i ain't doing this to make money....although i guess that will be impossible to prove - but come on.....what use would it be for me to make $1-5 dollars.....please.....
