I just got back from a Petland Discounts in Deer Park, NY. In there they had a decent selection of sm med and larger cichlids and whatnot. I came across what was listed as a Managuense, but I quickly realized it wasen't.

Sorry for the cell pics. Anyways, the woman didn't know what the fish was. It's face looked Tilapia, it's body had other amrkings, but it was silver in color. It's fins were topped with the distinct Orange marks of a Green Terror.

Now the fish was with another Jag, who was giving her the business of course. At first I thought they were acing like a mated pair, but after taking closer looks my opinion is they are both female.

So I guess my question is, does anyone know what this fish is? Is it just a variant of Tilapia, or possibly a hybrid of Tilapia/Green Terror?

Oh yeah, I asked the woman how much and she said...How much are you willing to offer? <--Never heard a pet shop wheel and deal like that, especially in a chain like Petland! She was looking to sell the fish and I was probaly the only one in there who ever asked about it!

look like a plain tilapia

I guess I have just never seen them in that color. I had one in the past that was pinkinsh...Seen other with that pink color. Maybe it's just uncommon for the LFS I frequented.

Believe it or not i work at that Petland Discounts, and yea its some type of Tilapia. we were just trying to sell it for anything. i think we got $2.50 for it lmao.

yeah thats a mozambique tilapia i think. those guys are garbage disposals with fins ... nonstop eating.

Well... I guess you know what to do with it now.. :drool:yum, yum!!! lol That's horrible... but a cheap supper for $2.50... ok sorry, sorry.. I'll leave now...
