Stumpy barbells??????

My silver arowana I got just a week ago was nearly perfect now his barbells are getting smaller and almost stumpy looking . Why is this? It piss's me off man cause all three aros I have had the pleasure of owning all developed the same thing.

my silver is 9" n still has tall straight barbells, but i've heard that adult aros sometimes just lose their barbells, or tank is too small n they rub the barbell against wall, i've seen jars n leis lose their barbells but never silvers. how big is it?

20" When I got him they were perfect. the bumping sounds like it makes sense since my set up is only 150. I'm moving soon so I'm waiting to get in the new place before i upgrade to the 240-300.
