I saw some nice and small flowerhorns and really want to get them. Since they are very aggressive when they growth big therefore i want to stun them or keep them at a small size like 8" and smaller. Does any one have any experience, suggestion on this. I'm not talking about the FH mixed with parrot, i'm talking about the FH with hump at 3-4". I want to keep them that way. Thank you

Purposely stunting your fish is honestly not going to go over well on this site. stunting can lead to long term health risks and deformities. I don't suggest it for your flowerhorn.

And before anyone else starts a flamefest, please read the TOS. Thank you.;)

The aggression does not come through size it is the maturity of the fish. When they reach a certain AGE their aggression levels rise, be it hormonal or whatever.
Stunting a fish can have bad health effects as well as shortening the lifespan of the fish. I would recommend keeping the flowerhorn until he gets too much too handle for you and sell/rehome him when the time comes or just not bother and go with a more suitable species.

I really think you should just stick with a short body flowerhorn if you really want a small flowerhorn.. Stunting is on purpose is inhumane.. If you don't want a short body flowerhorn, I suggest you don't get a flowerhorn at all.

what is TOS?

Terms of Service. The rules of MFK.

Stunting a fish is not suggested nor reccommended. It is cruelty to the fish. I would not do it, if you cant be happy with it how it is and how it will be than you should not get the fish at all. The fish by nature is agressive and has nothing to do with size.
