Sup MFK,

I've been growing concerned with my Albino Senegal for the past few months. He just hasn't grown! I have a Delhezi and Senegal Bichir in the same tank as him. Here's a pic of the Albino, it's old but there really isn't much difference.

Albino2.jpg

The Senegal was my first Bichir, got him at 3", the Albino was my second, got him at 4.5", and the Delhezi was my third, got him at 5".

It's been 6 months and the Senegal and Delhezi are reaching 8" now while my Albino is still at the same length. My 75 gallon isn't crowded and there's plenty of room. My filtration capacity on it is around 240 gallons and I do water changes regularly, (At my very laziest, I'll do a 20% change every couple of weeks.). The Albino's also healthy. He's very active and eats normally. I feed him along with the others a variety from blood worms, shrimp, rosy reds, and a couple kinds of sinking pellets.

Anyway, I'm worried that he's stunted though I can't recognize any real physical deformities. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or could he have been just stunted before I got him?

From what I've seen and heard senegals just seem to have their own growth rates. I'm in the same boat. I've had my albino for maybe 3-4 months now and he's grown maybe 1", whereas my normal senegal grew 2"+ in maybe 6 weeks or so. So long as hes active and eating I wouldn't worry too much

good luck

edit: might try adding beefheart to the feeding schedule?

I just thought it was weird, my Senegal grew pretty quick and is still growing, so is my Delhezi.

On occasion I'll try beefheart, it's just been a while. At times they get something different every day lol.

I think albino sengs have slower growth rates genetically. They max out at smaller sizes as well.

I've noticed that in some pictures and videos but was never able to confirm it. I guess if he's doing alright it makes sense.

Thanks
