The body shape looks good. I don't see any deformities. They may not reach their maximum size, but with proper care, you should still have some nice fish. You said that you saved the fish, so give them a chance. The Chocolates I've had were relatively slow growers, so have some patience. Give them a few months, with good food and conditions, and see how they do. Good luck.

anyways..........moving on.

i have had these fish for 2 months now. they being housed in a 60 gallon for now. i feed them frozen food and pellets. some time earthworms. their bellies are always full. water chnages...25% weekly. i hope they are not stunted bu time will tell
 
good save mate, i have had a chocolate that had one eye that i saved and its been a year and it has only grown an inch so they are slow growers but asre beautiful fish
