Hi I have a grow out 20gal long that houses several rubberlips. Their about 1" long and almost 3 years old. I have pics to show you the past 2 years growth. The first year was undocumented. I had an id thread several months ago and some of you confirmed rubber lip. I bought him as pit bull pleco. Still the same size years ago. I intended to put him in my 55gal after they grew abit. Just to give you an idea of how long that was I no longer have the 55gal. I have upgraded 3 times since then. I don't understand why they haven't grown. They are FAT. NO SUNKEN BELLIES! Not one bit. I feed cucumber, algae wafer, nls, omega1, several hikari brands, frozen bloodworms (occasionally 2x weekly), black worms, etc... I admit the tank is a bit overstocked but the fish are small its a grow out tank. All the fish have doubled or tripled in size a few even moved to a bigger tank. except 1 bristolnose and 2 rubberlips. The bistolnose had been beat up really bad by the mabunnas it happened last year and he hasn't healed. The rubberlips have ZERO wounds torn fins or bruises. They are a lot bigger than the bn. And the rubberlips are VERY territorial. They are sooo funny on the glass nudging each other. The bigger one (still 1") lifts his head up and I think its a sign of dominance toward the other. I think they are m/fm pair but no interest in breeding. I compare pictures and I swear they look exactly the same. They are full grown maybe?
Why aren't they growing?
