How do you un-stunt a SB? can this be done?

unstunt a short-body? short bodies aren't stunted, it's a genetic trait that prevents them from growing in length past a certain point, and you definitely cant "unstunt" them.

Just buy a regular one. Most times they are cheaper.

cant be done, its the gen that caused it. Just feed them well still..

Well he was a regular one from the LFS, the body's not shorter or stockier it's just small and he's been like that for the last year, he's only 6". what should I feed him?

I suggest plenty of meaty food, lots of variety of it,
If you let it, bichirs would eat like pigs, you could try live foods also but be sure to quarantine it first prior feeding. Other people would use sinking pellets, but to me its not my the best choice. U could try any of them, but just be sure not to miss the feeding time. Thats what I thought,

IF it is still capable of growing, frequent water changes along with regular feeding will do it.

So I think I figyured it out. I had been feeding him large chunks of shrimp which were hard for him to get a bite of so I cut up the pices a little smaller and "BAM" he's fat again!

So i'll kep feeding him bite sized food and see if he won't put on some weight.
