I have a 4" Silver in a 10g tank right now because I tried to put him in with my CK's but they thought he was lunch, I know for sure mý oscars will eat him so that a no-no. I wondering if putting him in this 10g temporarily is gonna stunt his growth? I already setup another 55g to put him in until I get my 220 next month I'm just waiting for the water to cycle before I put him in there. I just don't want him being in this small tank to stunt his growth even though he's onlý gonna be in there for a week or so.

it should be ok if its for a week or two. just dont make it long term

should be okay if just for a week or two but get him in that 55 or 220 ASAP..... :confused:whats with everyone buying the fish first then getting the right tank later on.... :screwy:

Sweet. Thanks. My wife is cussing me out because I picked up a 55g just for my Aro, I told her being in a 10g even if for a day is gonna keep him from reaching his full potential, lol. But he'll be in a 55 as soon as its done cycling (set it up yesterday) then to my 220 on the 12th. Thanks for the input.

the max time it should spend on the 10 gal could be 2 weeks..

I already got him out and in his own 55g. I just filled it with water from my current tanks. (Duh!:screwy:) Thanks for the input.

Good luck Inelms2. And as for Yoji's comment about buying before having the tank its rather simple. It's human nature:) How many guys out there have bought tanks only to find that they don't fit through the door of their house. Bought huge trucks with no place to park it or money to keep the tank filled. Plant a tree by the house only to have it destroy the sidewalk, lawn and foundation to the house....

I could go on:) but all we can do is hope that our MFKs can grow with the type of fish they keep. Peace

Yeah I understand, plus most of the talk you hear online are just lies. Ppl trying to impress someone or gain some sort of internet stature by being something they're really not. It's natural to not believe what you read on a message board in most cases. But rest assured I've been keeping fish(primarily oscars) for years, I would never buy a fish I couldn't properly house. The only reason I don't have my 220 now is because I don't have the time to pick it up. But when I get back from my anniversary Vacation (5 years! WooHoo!) I'll pick up my 220 from D.Pulcher(another MFK on these boards) and I'll post pics just for Yoji! lol

pics?
