Stupid Eheim Feeder

i have this eheim feeder for like 6 mnths it worked great
then one day i come home and it bugged out and just kept spinning untill i took the batteries out.
i tried every thing it just wouldnt stop spinning also the lcd screen was blank

so today i spent another 40 bucks to buy a new cause im going out of town
did a big water change
filled up the feeder and when out when i came back my tank was cloudy and the entire thing emptied
the same thing happened to this one wtf
lcd screen is blank and it just keeps spinning

i took the batteries out and now it looks ok, but i dont trust

Sorry you're having problems with the feeders. I've never had any problem with mine. Here's a crazy thought though. Are you using rechargeable batteries? I just have 2 AA alkaline batteries in mine.
 
good to know I was going to buy one... my last tank came with a nutramatic 2X I hate it.
 
why not just not feed your fish while you are gone? they can go a couple weeks without food and do fine.
 
What type of fish?

I have a lot of tinfoils and I jsut drop some floating egeria in the tank before I take off. When I come back the egeria has been "processed".

I have that exact same feeder. During one of the feedings it wouldn't stop spinning. Luckily I was there to take it off the tank before it over fed. I removed the batteries and put them in again and sure enough it was still spinning. I hit the "manual feed" button and it finally stopped.

Nice feeder for the money but now I dont know if I would trust it while on vacation.
