Try working in a petstore for long enough that everyone knows you. And knows that you have a soft spot for rejects. Much too frequently I hear, "I don't want this anymore, it's too big for the tank." " This bird is mean, if you can't take it We will just let it go." " I can't afford to keep this dog, an eleven year old dog with medical issues stands a good chance of adoption, right?" And don't get my wife started on how I still have to go to other stores, because we only carry a limited selection. Yes it's an addiction, but as addictions go, pretty harmless. Dependent on your significant others attitude of course.

I have the exact same problem. Since I got my 55 gallon last year fish buying is like a drug to me, I get a strange rush just going round a decent fish store it is really weird! And i'm not some 70yo bloke im only 24!
