Stupid Fish wont mate

Hey I am posting this for a friend and he has 2 red devils. His one is a male that he has had for a long time. The other is a female that he has had close to 6 months now she is a wild female from Jeff Rapps. Well we have been trying to get them to breed but we just cant seem to get the female to want to lay eggs. The male we can tell wants to mate but the female just wont do it. We have tried raising the temperature, doing huge water changes, we have provided them with rocks and things to lay eggs on. My friend is starting to give up on the female and is thinking about getting rid of her and trying again with a different female. Do you guys have any ideas on what we can try and do to to get them to mate? Any help is greatly appreciated.

No ideas because you did what i would have already done. The only thing i would try would be caves. Honestly, female fish are like female humans. You can't figure them out. When she stops poppin those birth control pills is totally up to her.

Can you post pics of the guy and gal? Also, is the female plump? Lower her breeding vent?

Cant really force them. How big is the female? She might be still immature.

yea ill try and post pictures tomorrow, and no I would say she is mature shes around 8 inchs or so.
