Stupid hybrid question

well they are both in the subfamily, Geophaginae and the genus Geophagus and Mikrogeophagus are almost the same(sounds stupid). So could a pearl cichlid (Geophagus brasiliensis) and a Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) interbreed? Or has it never been done? Or Does no one know?

I know that I shouldnt start keeping cichlids and start breeding them, Im going to wait a few months after I start keeping cichlids( If I do cichlids)

None of them are Apistos.And Pearl cichlid (Geophagus brasiliensis) and a Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi)won't inter breed.
