Just finished building my sump. Looked beautiful, glass cut perfect, caulk dry and sealed. Everything fits great. But oh wait I used the cheap caulk, lets read the bottle. Lets see, it's silicone(thats as far as I got the first time) it's clear, and oh what do you know,; IT'S MOLD RESISTANT!!! Well at least I get to look forward to scraping caulk with a razor blade. Yep I defiantly need a sarcasm font.lol What am I saying I probably would have changed it around in a month anyway.lol Has anyone else done something stupid like this?? Just trying to make me feal better:)

i can't remember who, but i saw someone make a post that said they used BBs from a BB gun as substrate when they first started out. poor fish.

my worst mistake was probably mis-identifying a sensory pit on my Oscar (when i still had him) as HITH, then when it actually got HITH i ignored it because i thought it was a sensory pit aswell. all is better now though.

kept my xanto with a common pleco.

until i righted my wrong and chucked the common off the fwy into the stream....that it came from...

i had 2 20 gallon tanks and one leaked so i went to reseal the one while i also set up the other and while taking silicone off i notice the floor was wet. WRONG TANK IDIOT. Yup how about that

at least you have the "theyre the same size" thing going in your favor. :naughty:

Ok, yah that would suck. Oh a little advice, after you scrape caulk with a razor, rubbing alcohol dissolves the rest. Couldn't find that on google, but tried and true.

I'm a bit of a newbie, can someone explain to me what's wrong here? So the silicon won't mold over, it'll have to grow on the glass and on everything else in the sump..??

Getting a new canister and lifting the top off, lol. I didn't know how it worked, my dad came over and showed me how. I was screaming my head off because I had no clue what i was doing. The carpet was soaked.
