Dumb question, but I was watching Finding Nemo with the kiddos today, and I was wondering....when Marlin and Dory loose the mask, they go into the deep, dark trench and see the light, and it ends up being this killer fish with hugely awesome teeth....is that actually a real fish? All of the other fish in the movie are really fish you can find in the ocean, that's why I ask, cause it would be my new dream monster if that's the case :D

sweet mother of god, that is one awesome fish! Thanks, now I have yet another dream to add to the list of impossible to find/keep fish.....

Uh, I don't know if I was right, and I'm not a mod or a finding nemo expert, but okay. And if it is an angler fish, they only live in like the depths of the ocean. You'd have to keep it in like a 1000 gallon tank in a completely black room with no lights. Good luck doing water changes on that! :D

if you google angler fish, you come up with pics of what was on nemo...not sure if that's actually what it is or not, but this is what you come up with...

and I figured it would be impossible to keep...that's why I said it was going on my impossible to keep/find list ;)
But oh man...it'd be cool :headbang2

Nahhh...... Wc's in the dark would suck, PLUS a pressure-maker-thingamajiggy, etc. PLUS nobody on earth has ever kept one of those things (okay, maybe less than like 5 people)

this is the cast resin example from pixar that the fish was based on....if this helps any....

Actually, I think thats not a real fish, but based off of one.
How was a clownfish and tang able to swim that deep anyway? :D
