Stupid question about Java moss.

I just anchored some java moss to a piece of lava rock with fishing string in my planted 55 gallon. So my dumb question is: how long will it take for the moss to fully root and I can cut the fishing line off?

It depends, but IME java moss roots fairly quick. Probably a couple weeks.

Yeah a few weeks atleast. You can tell when it is rooted. Also check it with your fingers to make sure it is really attached before cutting the string.

You don't really have to cut the strings. The moss would grow like weeds and hide the strings
