Okay heres the dumb question of the day..

I have a 100g long with a canopy. I mounted an LED strip that has 3 small spot lights..

Obviously I understand that LED lights have little to no lumen properties and will likely not grow any plants.

The tank gets a bit of ambient light.. it's near a large picture window.

Would anything grow neutrally in their?

Anubias ? Java Fern ?

Any thoughts would be nice.. right now I have cichlids in that tank but was thinking of swapping them out for african oddball fish but would like some more plant cover at the top.. I like the sub-dued lighting effect but the upper portion of the tank seems pretty bare. I have driftwood on the bottom.

Depending on amount of light, I don't think you will grow much more than algae.

Anubias that are anchored to taller pieces of driftwood will work alright, as long as they are under the lights themselves. LEDs are incredible output of lumens, however you have to have a lot of them to make that translate into good growth.

The two low light level plants that have been recommended to me are Anubias and Java Fern. I have yet to try them, but am really looking forward to it.

Does anyone know a good place to find either of these? So far anything I have seen in LFS has been rotting or just not healthy looking.

Thanks homie.

Come by and talk fish next time your in town.

No problem. It's going to be a while before I'm up in spokane again, I'm running around so much lately, between work, going cross state, and fishing, I'm swamped. But I'll try to make it up there sometime this month.
