Stupid Shipping Charges!

I order most of my fish on-line because my LFS is so bad. It looks like I'm going to have to beg, plead, and hope my LFS will special order for me, or eventually quit the hobby for lack of good fish!

Yep, I feel like it's that bad! I just went to FedEx to get an estimate on rates from a seller to my zip and it's over $65 to my husband's shop! DHL, who's "overnight" is two day to my zip wants $77! I'm suppose to call him tomorrow to give my final order, but if the shipping really is as high I got from the shipping companies there is no way I can order. :cry:

It really sucks. Even Dr.'s F & S have raised their shipping. Crap, one fish can be over $80 and I just can't pay that right now (or ever.) What really sucks is that the high shipping is STILL less than the gas to actually drive to a decent fish store, which for me is about 3 hours away.
 
yep thats what always kills is the shipping, it sucks for me bc i live in the middle of nowhere so i usually always have to order my fish or drive 3 or 4 hours :(
 
ya the sellers on here are actualy alot cheaper than alot of places

yep very true if i live close to an airport thats the way to go:grinyes:
 
I'm sure you can probably blame it on the high cost of gas. Seems to be changing the price of everything now.
 
i've never seen a cheap fish shipment... the shipping usually costs 2-3x the fish I want to buy, so I usually just give up, or hope my lfs has it..
