I had one a couple years ago and never had any problems with him messing with other fish. I found one about a foot long at my LFS the other day so I said what the heck and picked him up. I threw some feeders in the tank the next day and he ignored them. Came home from work and found my 7" tinfoil barb stuck in a rock (dead) and gnawed on. Wasnt sure who chewed on him, since I know plecos will eat dead fish, so been monitoring the tank. Woke up yesterday morning, and I am missing a 5" koi, 3" goldfish, and 3" oscar. Theres only one fish in the tank right now capable of eating a 5" koi. So now the wolffish, who looks like he is well fed, is residing in my 29G feeder tank until I get my 125 up and move some fish.

Id say clever wolf fish stocking up on food while its there , tbh what did you expect a foot long wolf would eat your arm given half a chance gold fish and koi are no probs

LOL as far as the wolf was concerned those were all just feeders!

HAHA Ive had wolffish before that didnt eat large fish. i know catfish eat large fish but I figured everything in there was safe as long as I kept feeders in it. I guess he wanted the main course, not an appetizer. Oh well. And no I dont stick my hand in blenders, but I have been bitten by a pirahna before.

Wolves will eat anything they can NEARLY! fit in their mouth. if they decide they want to try, theyll gnaw and rip and tear at larger fish they think they might be able to eat. at 4 in my red wolf was eating fully grown mollies at 3 in. never underestimate a wolf, especially a common/aimara/black any of the larger ones basically
