So today's the day for routine WCs. I decided to run two at once (my 55g and my 20g) just to get things done quicker. So after finishing up draining the 55g about 50%, I start on the 20 while the 55 fills up. Also while doing this, I go outside to dump the waste water into the ditch. Bad idea. I come back in to find that the 55g was overflowing onto my floor and the 20g was near empty with my Kenyi caught on the end of the gravel vac. :nilly: So I run and turn the hose off and run to the 20 and get the Kenyi out (no harm was done) of the vac. At this point my floor is completely soaked and smells of dirty fish water. So I lay some towels down for the time being to soak some of it up, fill the 20g back up, and come back to tend to the wetness. I soak as much of it up with about 5 towels as I can, set the blow dryer on it for about 30 minutes, and then get the rest out with the steam cleaner.

Needless to say, I learned my lesson. Sometimes it's better to spend the time on one tank. The results come out much better.

I couldn't count how many times I've overfilled a tank. Good thing I don't have carpet.

I have never had this specific accident. However, I can not begin to tell you how much water I have cleaned up off of the floor, out of the carpet. When I finally get my fish room there is going to be a tiled floor with a floor drain.

happens to prety much every body.

Agreed. My friend Ryan (eatyoualive) and I are making a fish room in his basement. Strictly concrete floors with a drain in the middle of the room.

I know the feeling. Thank God for my concrete floor and drain!

been there, done that, hope I never do it again.. haha..

LOL ...I had a 120g tank with a 2 foot pacu in it. I was watching TV and cleaning the tank out. I must have lost track of time. The only reason I went back to the tank was because of the fish was going crazy in 4 inches of water lol. I felt so bad i had to feed him a burger.
