So my girlfriend just showed up with a 2.5" sturgeon she bought at the LFS as a present for me. I have a 50 gallon aquarium I can put it in until it gets big enough to put in my pond. What temperature should the aquarium be and what should I feed it? I've heard bloodworms? Thanks

Sturgens like cold water, you will probably need a chiller or an aquarium cooler to lower the temp. They like in the mid 50s to low 60s but I have seen them do well in the high 60s. Sturgen grow huge to you will need a large pond.

As for feeding I'd say a high quality pellet as a staple can never go wrong.

Sturegons do pretty good up to 27 celcius then they start to act weird...

You need to have much oxygen in your tank to start with because they are very sensitive if they dont get enough.

Wich species is it Ruthenus? The grow to about 45cm in a year or so and up to 1m in like 2-3 years so no worry

u have a dinosaur!!!
is it Russian variety or American...either way it is an awesome fish, we have them up here in ohio; lake erie...

they get rather large and our winters get below frezzzzzzing for about 2 mo where the lake freezes over our summer up here is about 2-3 mo of 80 degree weather so...aq haters r not needed...just a gd hugh tank is
