i can't seem to find any info as to whether shovelnose sturgeon are illegal, legal, or if a permit is required, etc.

i looked at oddball's fish legality thread in the FAQ but wisconsin wasn't listed.

can anyone point me to some info or something?

thanks

i think they are fine as the have a continuous season down by redwing...on the river...

Do you have a source of shovelnose sturgeon?

There's a hatchery a few hours drive from me. Although now rethinking things I might rather get an albino sterlet, or no sturgeon at all depending on how much cash i have by the end of my pond build.

I have been looking for a sturgeon as well. I emailed the DNR and the only reply I got was if you were to catch your own, wisconsin-native sturgeon, you'd be able to keep it
