Apperently sturgeons are going to be on tonight on Animal Planet's "New Breed Vets" with Steve Irwin. It's on right now for those interested. I don't know how much time they will spend on them but the sturgeon segment has not started yet.

I saw it...the explanation for the surgery was unclear to me. They removed the eggs (caviar) and somehow that saved the fish's life. I might've missed something, but I thought I saw the whole segment 
I saw it as well, they removed a female shortnose sturgeon's overys but I didn't catch the reason why. It was being let back into the wild and is endangered but they don't want it to breed. I was falling asleep in front of the TV.
Yeah...it was weird that they didn't want it to breed if it's endangered?! How does that help their situation?
I just caught the tail end of Iron Chef last night. The theme ingredient was live sturgeons! I was like
