So i just finished building a 3d background out of styrofoam and drylock hydraulic concrete. I just got the tank filled up and got my powerheads running. How long should it take for any contaminants in the styrofoam/concrete to seep out?20200422_210217.jpg20200422_210140.jpg

Shouldn’t take long a couple days to a week in my experience.
Just keep filling and draining the tank every day until the Ph is reasonable for what you plan to keep.

As said above.
Test the pH of your tap water,
i.e. if its 7,
fill the tank and test the tank water pH the next day,
if its 9, you have a ways to go,
but if the next day, its 7.5 you are almost there.

Mine took at least 3 weeks but you can hook up your filter and start cycling the tank with pure ammonia. Once the concrete is cured your tank might also be fully cycled and ready for fish
