I am sure the intentions were good but I for one dont care for the sub forums in the DIY section. I use to log on daily and add my pearls of wisdom where ever I could be it in filtration, stands, tanks...whatever! With the sections divided I dont go to all of them because it's pretty much a pain. I preferred all of the DIY in one forum. Just my opinion! Have a happy day!

As some one taking in more information than giving out, I tend to like them. If I know I want to try my hand a filter but I'm not sure what to search for or what to look for as I sift through the entire section...its a lot easier to just go to the DIY Filter section and start reading.

I can see your point though...Too bad it can't be set up to do both. Say you make a post about a DIY Filter, you get a radio button option on you new thread page that says what sub-forum it would fit in, the thread is then duplicated in that subforum and in a 'main' diy section.

Twice the server load and I'm sure the bbs software doesn't support it:\

What is it exactly that makes in more difficult to participate? Just curious.

You have to browse three forums rather than one to share your talent

Cons.

For someone sharing a DIY project like a stand and a tank, the poster would need to make two threads.

Pros.

For someone looking for ideas like how to make a tank, its much easier to browse a forum with only Tanks as topics.

As with any change, we will have some growing pains. If you are like me, I browse the whole site. I like to see all of the new posts at once and sort through them as I may.
I think it is a positive way to organize what we have and make it easy to find when you are just browsing around or looking for a specific type of build.

That's it exactly.
