Is the top part of a Tetratec ex700 filter submersible?

Canister filters don't go in the tank...they go beneath it. If any part of your canister is submerged, there is a big problem.

The thing is leaking and it's not possible for me to replace the o-ring. So i just wanted to use it as a powerhead or something. Since the tank has two canisters

just put some silicone on it.. throw a prefilter on it and you wont have to open it up for a year and if you cant pick up a gasket by then.. well.. youve got bigger problems..
