Subsrate mix or layer

I use to have a planted pank 60g with three in of flor sub in it. I never like the red look so I wanted to try mixing it in with a red brown rock looking sand. Can this be done? Or should I just layer it at the bottom.? Or can I juat use my sand/rocks and just add the iron into the tank somehow.

60g tank wouldn't be a very wise choice for an arowana

Whatever u mix. The smaller substrate will fall to the bottom over time.
So basicly, rock on top, sand on bottom
