Hello all,

I have been pondering the idea of switching substrate in my rhino iguanas enclosure for a while now. but i cant decide on what to go with now. right now he is on tile. which is easy to clean but i dont think he is super fond of it. lack of traction when he needs to run and such.

ive tried newpaper, carpet, tile and non of them really work for me.

just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i can switch to?

You could try peat mixed with play sand or coconut fiber, dont know however if it could have any inpactation hazzards:confused: I use that on my igs but they spend most of their time basking well above wille yours would spend more time in the ground and so more exposed

I use sand and dirt mix! Mike just think of your rhino as an omnivourous monitor.

thanks guys. im going to go with a sand dirt mix.

figured i would do it now while i am moving his enclosure to my new place :D

now i just have to convince the GF that snakes arent evil

cypress mulch is nice, inexpensive, and easy to spot clean.
