substrate/backdrop color

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i use sand and a black back, with aqua glo lights.....

thanks.

i have opposite for now, black substrate and light back ground. similar lighting.

before the fish came home with me, they were kept in a blue on blue natural sunlight tank. colors were vibrant. i visited the LFS probably once a week for a month before purchasing.

in my tank 80% of the time, the yellow/gold turns into a darkened olive and pelvic fins go from red to black. Some fish darker than others, sort of random.

choosing which tank they'll go to. for substrate, prefer to go with some kind of natural slate rock but many colors to choose from.

any substrate, no background, natural light during day, halide lights for night viewing
OR
any substrate, dark back ground, natural light during day, pink flourecents for viewing at night.

i use pfs(tannish color) black background and the lights are made by philips(gives off a orangish look, kinda simulates black water).. my orinos have brighter color in my tank than they were at my lfs.
