I'm torn between these three...

PFS - Cheap and easy, can get a 50# bag for $8 and I do like the looks
Black Sand - I have 75# on hand already, would need to buy another 25# or so
Natural Colored Gravel - I have about 100# of this on hand, and I like the looks of this as well

Back is going to be painted black and it's going to house SA/CA cichlids, decor is going to be Mopani driftwood and several large pieces of smooth river rock with some fake plants to give it some color

Below is a pic of the gravel

Then black and pfs sand are pretty standard looking.

I hust set up my 125 with pfs, and it looks great.

I hate the hassle of maintenance with a sand substrate.

It maybe something that has to grow on you over time. IDK

I do like micro gravel or crushed quarts if you can find it. It is the size of 50 grains of sand. And you can vaccum it and not have to worry about sucking it down the drain. Also it is too big to get stirred up and ruin a filter.
aquarium substrate . c* o* m has it.

I have used both sand and gravel in past setups, and they are both easy to clean. For this setup it's mostly opinions on what would look best as a more "natural" type look.

In reality it will probably be between the PFS and the Gravel for the best look, but since I have so much black sand on hand I thought I should add that to the poll.
